Oh to be in England now that Tendulkar's here. Well, not quite yet, but if Browning had watched Sachin bat, he may have changed his poem to capture a glorious summer's day when Tendulkar scored 150 not out.
I hope Sachin has in him at least two more tours of England. What's that? About 15 more bats? His hundred on Sunday showed his great skills, stamina and joy in batting to be undiminished.
Richie Benaud included Tendulkar in his Greatest X1. Is he the greatest of all batsmen? Greater than Hobbs, Gavaskar, Bradman, Richards and Sobers, all included in that Greatest X1? We can never know, but what a wonderful pastime it is to contemplate and argue over the idea.
